Grandpa Skip's Halloween Spooktacular

It has become an annual tradition in the Name household to host a Halloween party for the grandkids. With my dad being out of town until the end of the month, the party was scheduled for the day after Halloween. We were fortunate that the weather was unseasonably warm. The temperature gauge in Spanish Fork read 78 as we were leaving for Alpine. The autumn foliage had remained intact so I snapped a few photos to show the beauty of Alpine mountain bench.
The afternoon began with a "flea market" for the kids...my sweet grandma Edie from Indiana bought the kids boxes of toys, books, and movies and loaded up my dad's truck so he could drive them back to Utah. Added to all the dolls and random toys my dad emptied out from his basement, the grandkids were in heaven. My sisters and I enjoyed a few moments of nostalgia as we rummaged through our Cabbage Patch dolls, complete with custom outfits, including a WHS sweater set. (Go Panthers!)
Our sweet little Xavier spent the first two hours of the party warming up to everyone and making his presence known...including temper tantrums, streams of tears, and two Oscar nods.
Once the fire was crackling, the kids were roasting their own wienies and downing gallons of apple cider. We topped it off with Jaxon's birthday cupcakes before loading all the munchkins into the wagon. They always look forward to Grandpa's wagon rides...winding through the mountain trails and taking advantage of 1 1/2 hours with limited parental supervision!
Those of us left behind enjoyed visiting around the bonfire snacking on Angie's gourmet ghost-sprinkled caramel apples. It doesn't get much better than this!
