Where Da Party At?

Party on Garth. Party on Wayne. Excellent!

It's 100+ degrees in Utah and where are all the peeps? Downtown on Main Street rockin' to the local bands and filling their faces with funnel cakes, cotton candy, and fruity-flavored sno cones. If you live outside of Utah, you might think this strange behavior for the third week of July but this is a humongous celebratory week for Utahans. We are so into the party, we are all taking Friday off! Thanks, Governor! July 24th commemorates the 162nd anniversary of the LDS pioneers' entrance into the Salt Lake Valley and you all know Mormons love a good party. Right, peeps? Bring on the red punch and jello salad! Just kidding, friends. We reserve the punch and salad for really special occasions, like family reunions and wedding receptions. My very own hometown of Spanish Fork, Utah, is celebrating Pioneer Day all week long in the form of Fiesta Days, with live bands, rodeos, carnival rides, and fireworks. Just one more reason for me to love the month of July!

No celebration would be complete without giving a shout out to two amazing and inspiring American pioneers, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Forty years ago today these astro-hotties "bootprinted" the moon and got their names in the record books. Way to go, gentlemen! You make us proud. Thanks for being supersmart and rocking the house in aerospace navigation. This American girl loves you for once again establishing the US of A as an ensign to the nations. The Commies have nothin' on us!
